The Magnificent Uluwatu Temple

Honestly, I’m kinda miss Bali.
Back to my hometown about 2 months after explored Bali for 6months.

One of the best place I’d love to visit again is Uluwatu Temple. Some of my friends told me that is not worth to visit Uluwatu Temple because it is hot and see nothing except the cliff. So, I wasn’t tended to visit there until 2 weeks before I ended my journey in Bali.

At the first, I was hesitated what time should I visit there because I afraid of hot day. Then I decided to visit there at late afternoon about 4.30pm. When I arrived there, I feel coooool. The temperature is cool and the attraction is cool as well.

It was crowded of tourist and domestic. I believe it is happening every day. There is an entrance fee for adult domestic is Rp20.000/person and tourist is Rp40.000/person. After buy the ticket, we have to wear “sarong” and a belt if wear short pant or skirt because this is a holy place – Hindu Pura (temple).

There is a Hindu Pura (temple) in the hill.

We have to walk through the crowded stairs to reach the top. It was quite tight “traffic jam” at the stairs because people would like to take photo from the stairs with background of stunning waves hit the magnificent cliff. I I think only there the best position for taking photo. Honestly, I was sat at there for about a half hour – magnificent view with brace winds.

Please note there is a lot of monkeys, beware of your eye glasses, hat, bag, mobile, etc. If unfortunately your belonging is take by the monkey, please contact the staff directly. They will help you to bargain with the monkey, maybe you have to exchange it with money or something.

There is Kecak dance show (Balinese traditional dance) every 5.30pm – 6.30pm with ticket Rp100.000/person. I heard from others, this spectacular dance is perfectly match with the stunning sunset. I think It would be perfect and romantic if I watch this show with my beloved one next time if I visit Bali again. So, that's mean I must find a beloved one before visit Bali again. HAHAHA.

Note:
1) The best time arrive at Uluwatu Temple is before sunset about 4pm.
Distance from Kuta to Uluwatu about 1.5hour.
2) No transarbagita (public bus) to Uluwatu Temple.
3) If you take a cab, please ask driver to wait you (usually waiting fee is apply).
4) Please aware of monkey! Beware of your hat, glasses, mobile, etc.
5) Menstruating woman do not enter this holy place.

All You Can Eat Dimsum at Sanur Harum (Bali)

All you can eat dimsum at Sanur Harum.
Some of the dimsum are contain prok - nonhalal.

While waiting the food, there is an appetizer - braised peanut and kind like cucumber but that is not cucumber. To be honest, they served food very slow. We waited about twenty minutes just served one plate of food.

After wait about twenty minutes.
[Jelly Fish Salad]
Delicious! The jelly fish is chewy mixed to slightly sweet sauce.
There are fried vermicelli, sliced capsicum on the bottom
and sprinkled sesame seeds on the top.

[Pork Belly]
It might look tasty but to be honest I'm not recommend it at all.
The sliced pork belly is over chewy and not marinated well.
Only the sauce is good.

[Roasted Chicken and Garlic]
Delicious! Tender inside, crispy outside. The meat is tender and the skin is crispy,
Don't forget to dip in to the chili sauce!
[BBQ Pork Honey]
Delicious for the first bite. Good marinated and slightly sweet of honey.
But eat too much without rice, taste like to oily.

[Deep Fried Marinated Minced Squid Wrapped in Bacon]
Over-chewy! eventhough the bacon is crispy but the squid inside is over-fried.

[Deep Fried Crispy Wonton]
Crispy wonton with shrimp filling. Well done!

[Shrimp Roll Wrapped in Rice Papper]
Eventhough it is fried version but the rice papper is chewy.
Anyway, it is good enough! I still can taste the juicy of the shrimp.
Well done!

 [Crispy Fried Gow Gee]
Crispy and crunchy just like sotong crackers.
No any taste.

[Crispy Prawn]
Great presentation!
The taste is average. Nothing special.
Anyway, it will be great if you eat with the cabbages as well.

[Pork Sio May]
Same as the name. 100% is pork, no prawn at all.

 [Steamed Money Bag]
There is spinach inside the money bag.
The skin is quite chewy. Overall the taste is delicious.
I love it!

[Steamed Chicken Bun]
At the first, I don't expect anything or I may say this is the lowest expectation but
actually this is the most delicious dimsum here.
A great combination of peanut butter and chicken meat as the filling.
Love it so much!

[Choung Pan Char Siew]
I prefer the skin than filling.
[Steamed Spare Ribs with Black Bean]
The taste is under average.
They should put some sliced ginger on the top to cover the pork smelly.

[Bak Kut Teh]
The taste is more like bakso kuah than bak kut teh.
It is sweet and oily.
[Chicken Meat and Sweet Corn Soup]
Same as the name, it is sweet with a lot of corns, minced chicken meat and
scrambled egg.
[Sago and Honey Melon]
 End with delicious dessert.
The best way to describe the taste is like melted strawberry ice cream with sago and melon.
[Mango Pudding]
Another choice of dessert,
the taste was great, except the cream on the side (not creamy at all). All is about mango, there are some mango cubes inside the pudding.

Forget the Fear, YOLO

Beji Guwang, Hidden Canyon - A new attraction that you should come to fight your fear. I was hesitated to visit this place since 3 months ago. I searched and read a lot about Beji Guwang from many sources. What I got from the sources is about that you need a guide to assist you and not clear about the condition there. Since I'm gonna leave Bali soon, it would be not complete if I'm not visit this hidden canyon. So, I asked a friend, Liya to join this trip. Without hesitated, Liya agreed to join me. Then we started our journey...........

It took one and an half hour by motorbike from Uluwatu to Desa Guwang at Gianyar. We used and followed 'waze' (kinda like google map that you can easily download from Apple Store or Google Play) to reach here. Anyway, 200meters before reach Beji Guwang, waze led us to the wrong direction. Fortunately, we met a hidden canyon crew who led us to the Beji Guwang entrance.

Finally, we reached Beji Guwang. Before get in to the trek, you have to pay donation about Rp10.000/person (less than USD1) for entrance. The crew mentioned that there will be a guide who will assist you during the trek and you are suggested to pay tipping as how much as you like.

So, the crew who led us to the right place previously, Pak Wayan be our guide as well. He has been here about 5 months. He is a nice person. He helped us so much and voluntary took photo for us.

There are three canyons with different view and routes. Before start the trek, you have to walk down the stair about 100 steps. After that, our guide asked us to remove the shoes because the trek is slippery. He carried our shoes along the way.

First Canyon
Alright then we started our trip to the first canyon - the toughest one but the greatest one as well. Because of the river is too deep, so we was forced to walk and climb the slippery wall. Along the routes, my pity barefoot kissed a lot of stones. It was hurt but it's fine after see the amazing canyon. Inside the canyon is quite dark and no vegetation stamp on the wall.

Way to the second canyon
The distance between first and second canyon is a bit far than the second to the third canyon. The routes from the first to the second canyon is quite steep. So, we have to walk through the river instead. Fortunately, the level of river was not high due to dry season but my pants still got wet.

Second Canyon
However it's worth after reached the beautiful green canyon. There is a lot of vegetation on the second canyon stones.

Our guide and the green pool next to me
Next to the last one - third canyon. It is not far from second to the third canyon but we have to climb the rock to the higher level and there is no stairs. But don't worry, the guide will assist you. Fight your fear man! Once reach to the higher level, the view is more amazing. There are two green ponds shake your mind.

Me and Liya
We took a rest at there before continue to the third canyon. So, the guide told us that previously there was a river at the third canyon but now it is no water and dried. Then, we wore our shoes and continued our trip.

Third Canyon
As like as what he said, this is the dried canyon - no river, not slippery, no green vegetation as well. But there are a lot of tree roots.

So, my adrenaline challenged me to climb the roots act like a monkey.

After about 2 hours, we finished the canyon journey. Then we walked up by the stairs about 50steps and through the farm. Along the way, we saw farmer plants a lot of paddy, corns, chilies, vegetable, cucumbers, etc. The guide showed us there was a small red snake twisted the vegetable.

After 20 minutes, finally we reached the parking lot safely. Thank you, Pak Wayan. You are kind and attentive. This is a great journey. This time I climbed wall, now I'll consider to climb mountain. YOLO man!

Note:
- Please wear anti-water shoes otherwise you have to walk the first and second canyon with barefoot.
- Prepare to get wet - don't wear trouser.
- Bring water and snack.
- Put aside unnecessary things.
- Don't come during rainy season.

Can't Stop Falling in Love with Gusto Gelato

My first impression is how is a small shop can accommodate a lot of people.
Before I stand in front of the entrance, I saw there was many vehicles at parking lot special for Gusto Gelato's guest while the shop looks so small from the outside.

Can't stop falling in love with Gusto Gelato. To be honest, there are many delicious gelaterie in Bali but Gusto Gelato is my favorite one.

I tried matcha and chocolate cashew nut - wonderful combination.
I had never tasted so delicious matcha gelato even though a bucket of matcha gelato is also not enough for me. It taste creamy and light with slightly sweet.Perfect!
There are many selection of chocolate gelato. I was confused to choose even though I believe all selection are delicious. Finally, I choose chocolate cashew nut. I love the cashew nut so much! The cone is crunchy and slightly sweet.

My friend ordered 4 in 1, matcha - strawberry - chocolate mint and passion fruit. I tasted the passion fruit, it is cool and slightly sour.
