I never expected that I could climbed a mountain before my 20's. I set in my bucket lists that maybe I would climb mountain at my late 20's because this dream seems so far from my past current life. Then something just happened without prediction, I interned in Bali. So, I came to a place where seems close to my bucket list - far from reality, kinda like a culture shock.
I started how to live life like #YOLO (You Only Live Once), young, wild and free. People might say nothing is impossible - I'm not totally agree with it but I'm kinda believing that everything is possible.

6 months journey in Bali.. I climbed Mount Batur at a week before this journey end. Actually, climb a mountain shouldn't have a lot of hesitation but why I was hesitated for 5 months and finally I decided to take the risk on the last month? Yeah, whatever the reason is, at least I did it because I believe I can and I can because I believe! That's all.
I'm the master mind among my friends. First, I told my friends - Shella and Lina to join this trip. Without hesitation, Lina agree to join. Alright, got other 2 pax confirmed to join including me! Shella was hesitating because she didn't have sport shoes at Bali but suddenly she told me that she would join because her family would bring to her the shoes to Bali during vacation. Alright, got 3 pax include me!
At the first, we was sure that Silvya won't join us. So, I wasn't asked her to join. Don't know why, I still asked her, then she said YES!! OMG, unbelievable:):):) Finally, all of us joined but one thing I'm kinda regret is my bestie in Bali - Liya wasn't joined us:(
I searched information about trekking Mount Batur at google.com. Some sources say that possible for trekking without guide, just follow other people or find trekking guide on the spot. But I was not sure because all of us are girls and start trekking is about 2am - kinda dangerous actually. I think I should responsible for their safety because I'm the master mind. So, I decided to use trekking package by Pak Komang. He offered us Rp1.600.000 for 4 pax with breakfast then I negotiated again till Rp1.300.000 for 4 pax with driver pick up service without breakfast.
So, our journey began here..... 30 July 2016.... Mount Batur ....1.717mdpl...
00:30am:
"Wake up Lina, Shella, Silvya.... wake up, wake up, changes clothes, wash face, brush teeth."
01:00am:
Pak Ketut (driver) arrived. 2 hours journey from Uluwatu to Kintamani.
03:00am:
Arrived at Kintamani - dark, cold and freeze. There was a lot of people - Indonesian, Caucasian, Indian, Chinese, Singaporean, etc.
We met our trekking guide Bang Andre from Bangli. Bang Andre leaded us in this trip.
The first fifteen minutes - the trek was dark but flat, walked through forest. I saw an old Hindu temple.
The next half hour - the trek is a bit steep, quite tired but no sweat because the temperature is cool. There are a few benches for take a rest. Take a rest first to continue the long long long trek.
Honestly, it was just the beginning. The trek is steeper then steeper then steeper than before until the top. One of my friend just couldn't climb anymore then I helped her to carry her bag and encouraged her to keep going. So, I carried two bag in one time. Then we separated our journey.. Lina and Shella on the front until I couldn't followed their step then Silvya and guide Bang Andre was left behind.
I walked alone and carried two bags. So tired. Suddenly I heard dogs was barking. I felt so afraid and I was shouting "Bang Andre where are you?? Help, I'am afraid." Then he shouted back, "just keep going up, you will be find". Then I kept going because I believe I can.
At the last 30 minutes before reached to the top, I was thinking to stop because it is very very very steeper than before but my mind whispering me that you only live once, just a little bit again, you must continue! Fortunately, I met a child who was selling drinks on the top of mount. He drag my hand and encourage me to keep going up.
Finally, I conquered the mountain and see beautiful sunrise. The view become more beautiful when I saw Silvya reached the top with Bang Andre. Thanks God and Bang Andre, we did it!
06:10am: Reached the top of Mount Batur.
Wonderful sunrise. It was harder than 10km marathon, trekking forest in the heavy rain and climbing slippery canyon that I ever did. Tired, tired and tired but it's got to be worth it.
